I’m staying here at the Harvard Law School dorms, to attend Wikimania 2006, the second annual conference for Wikipedia folks. Except that it’s sort of warm — no air conditioning, just windows that open and a few window fans — it’s kind of cool staying in the dorm. It makes for lots of inexpensive, sturdy housing. Harvard and Wikimedia kept the cost low, bless them — it’s made it much easier for folks to attend who otherwise might not.
Eugene Kim and I were talking about how the floor layout, the common bathrooms (men’s on even floors, women’s on odd), the sparse decoration (Eugene says these aren’t even as fancy as the Harvard undergrad dorms) bring back memories we forgot we forgot!
Seeing old friends, meeting new ones, talking about wikis and such for four days… should be lots of fun. :-)
Oh, and if you’re at Wikimania, or nearby, make sure we bump into each other!
