Some unthinking person playing the Nigritude Ultramarine search engine optimization competition link-spammed KaminskiWiki. It was a hit-and-run job, dropping links to their site into the SandBox page, shotgunned in four different wiki syntaxes . (Interestingly enough, had the spammer started a new and interesting page about “Nigritude Ultramarine,” I might have let it slide.)
Luckily, due to the diligent link-spamming I’ve gotten from folks like emmss.com, I’ve got a WikiBlackList procedure all set up:
- Revert the affected page;
- Run a script against the page database which adds “.spammer” to their domain in the diffs page, so they don’t even get any PageRank out of those;
- Add their domain to the WikiBlackList page;
- Add their domain to the blacklisted links that will cause a page save to fail — nobody can link to them from KaminskiWiki ever again.
What is “Nigritude Ultramarine,” you ask? From the the sim64 Nigritude Ultramarine competition page at http://www.sim64.co.uk/serps.html (sorry, no live link — I don’t want to be linked into the NU web at all):
Nigritude Ultramarine has been chosen as the target keyphrase for a fun search engine optimization competition currently in progress. The reason Nigritude Ultramarine was chosen is because it is a play on the name of 1 of the competition organisers, DarkBlue. It was also chosen because at the start of the competition there were no pages found in the serps for Nigritude Ultramarine.
Great fun. Just stay away from my pages, thank you very much.
A clue for organizers of this and similar competitions: disqualify entries from folks who link-spam wikis or blogs.
