Google Is Not A Search Engine

Google is an interface to the structure of the web.

Google orders its results based on the structure of the web, which is generated as people create titles and links that help make their little locality of the web make sense. Google does the smart thing, and leverages that human intelligence to help its users find the things that are most important. It saves the artificial intelligence for things that computers are good at, like noticing you’ve made a misspelling in your query.

Type “Chloe” into Google. Go ahead. My site, which is actually almost completely blocked from Google, comes up anywhere between #2 or #7 on that search on any given day.. Think that’s smart? Think people around the world are typing “Chloe” into Google hoping to find my web site? Think it’s doing them any good?

    I doubt it.
