Vermont News Photographer Taken Into Custody, Released.

A newspaper photographer taking pictures of a nuclear power plant for a story in the Brattleboro Reformer was taken into custody by police under a 1917 Vermont treason law originally designed to protect potential targets after war was declared with Germany. Given the context of the times, I’m not surprised these incidents happen, and it sounds like it worked out. But I also think it’s important to share the fact that they happen.
