While writing up some of interests on my personal page there, I counted all the Flickr and del.icio.us tags I use, thinking that would represent something about what I care about, and came up with ~1,900 tags! That's a lot. :-)
Next post: rankism, or, why sorting tags (or most anything else) by most used is probably not most useful.

I've been fascinated by how many tags people attach to their Flickr pics. They're trying to get seen by as many people as possible, and it seems like the people who are using Flickr to support money-making blogs are the heaviest taggers. In my experience it's much easier to get viewers by posting pictures to a pool, particularly if the pool is for some topic that attracts obsessive types.
